Critical Manufacturing popularizes the Industry 4.0 concepts

Characterized as a fourth industrial revolution, Industry 4.0 focuses on digitization, systems integration, application to traditional industry, with the various partners of the value chain transforming the reality of industrial enterprises.

The incorporation of technologies in the industrial sectors is a reality in Portugal and is being driven by the Industry 4.0 program, launched by the Government at the beginning of the year.

In Portugal, 86% of companies expect to reach digitalization levels by 2020 (that including horizontal and vertical value chains). In the rest of the world, 72% of companies have these expectations.

Critical Manufacturing is one of the pioneers popularizing the Industry 4.0 idea on national scene. Francisco Almada Lobo, CEO of Critical Manufacturing, is a frequent speaker and invitee to various events and sessions focusing on the topic of Industry 4.0 in Portuguese industry.

The Digital Economy and Citizenship is the theme of the 27th Digital Business Congress, one of the initiatives that marks Portugal’s Industry 4.0 agenda. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the President of the Republic, will again be the President of the Congress, where all players involved in the process of digital transformation of all sectors of activity of the Portuguese economy will participate. IEM Education Forum – IEM Education meets the Future Industry

The IEM Education Forum offers a platform for exchanging experiences of professors, students and representatives from the industry on an European level. The participants will be around 20 students plus professors and company representatives from all over Europe. BEYOND - Portugal Digital Revolutions

EY Portugal is launching the 2nd edition of Beyond - Portugal Digital Revolutions, a debate initiative on the topic of Digital Transformation, which will include sectoral conferences, acceleration sessions and the dissemination of the first digitization study in Portugal, to be presented at the closing conference.
